On the 26th of July, 2025, H.E. Vahagn Afyan, Ambassador of Armenia, participated in an environmental event in Chandigarh highlighting the significance of hosting COP17 in Armenia.
In his remarks, Ambassador Afyan particularly emphasized the urgency of collective action to protect the environment. He underscored that next year Yerevan will be at the center of global biodiversity discussions and, welcoming the leadership role Armenia has taken, reaffirmed the country's commitment to advancing the global environmental agenda.
Mrs Harpreet Kaur Babla, the Mayor of Chandigarh, in her turn, highly appreciated the Armenian Ambassador’s participation in the tree-planting initiative organised by local authorities.
